Jennifer received her BA in Psychology from New York University in 2000. After college, she spent several years managing biological research grants at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. In 2007 Jennifer returned to New York and began working in international grantmaking at the ELMA Philanthropies, reinforcing a life-long concern for global human rights and social justice.
While working in philanthropy, Jennifer received a treatment in the Classical Taoist Alchemical lineage of acupuncture which changed the course of her life and sparked her passion for Chinese Medicine. Through this experience she began an apprenticeship with Laura Stelmok, with whom she began studies in 2010. Jennifer went on to get her MS in acupuncture, attending both the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture and Tri-State College of Acupuncture. While at Tri-State she was trained in multiple styles, including Traditional Chinese Medicine, Kiiko Matsumoto style, and Japanese Meridian Therapy. Even with her diverse educational background, Jennifer’s primary focus and passion has been in Classical Taoist 5-Element Acupuncture. Her practice began in New York City but she moved to Maine in 2014 to work more closely with Laura and participate in advanced clinical work that would support her patients. Jennifer is licensed in both New York and Maine.
